small bamboo

There is a type of bamboo called sasa. This is the Japanese classification for small bamboo, akin to knee high grass. There are many beautiful species of sasa. Landscapers have yet to notice their potential. Small bamboo is very decorative in a garden; it sets off rocks, paths, and fountains well and may also be trimmed freely into whatever shapes are appropriate.

Expansive plantings of sasa attract attention.

Fortune Inviting Bamboo for example is used to cloak mounds which appear as small mountains. Grown beside running water sasa can evoke a mountain stream. Sasa is grown for bonsai and container plants.
